In 2005 I decided to make sculptural and painterly work. First I started to write down my story on a black piece of wood, then I started balancing discarded objects on top of one another. This created moments of slow motion rather like how I saw trees bristle in the wind. In 2006/2007 I made and exhibited new work in 8 group shows at Lyndhurst Way in London. This year I had my first solo and group shows with Hannah Barry gallery.
Recently I have been reading and thinking about chaos and catastrophe. This will culminate in my forthcoming show 'CATASTROPHE' which will open on September 4th 2008. I am also a part of 'THE ELIMINATION OF DISTANCE', a group show opening in Cambridge on 9th October. (hannahbarry.com)
In regard to this magazine I like the lines on the Island of Utopia by the Poet Laureate, Mr Windbag Nonsenso's sister son.
NOPLACIA was once my name,
That is, a place where no one goes.
Plato's Republic now I claim
To match, or beat at its own game;
For that was just a myth in prose,
But what he wrote of, I became,
Of men, wealth, laws a solid frame,
A place where every wise man goes:
GOPLACIA is now my name.
